RuneScape Discussion
- Hati, Skoll, and Fenrir are back
- Jormungand ring instead of Eir's Spear and Helmet
- 20,000 valkyrie feathers needed, ends February 11
- Jormungand weapons, cape, Chariot teleport, Tiny Valkyrie Bobblehead, and 'of the Valkyrie' title
- 500 feathers a day, fenrir (200), skoll (150), hati (125), frank (25)
- An issue causing AoE spells, such as the burst and barrage ancient magicks, to not award adrenaline correctly has been fixed.
- Performing abilities whilst moving with revolution enabled will now correctly play attack animations.
- Added a small delay when equipping items from the action bar so that they can't accidentally be instantly removed.
- Should the Mutated Dazing Shot ability or Salt the Wound miss on your enemy, the timer for Puncture will now still extend.
- The damage modifiers from damage enhancing scrimshaws, Berseker auras and the Metamorphosis ability are now calculated earlier. This means that bosses phase correctly when they reach their HP threshold and mechanics that rely on damage to progress (such as Telos' tendrils or Vorago's pushback phases (Phase 5 - Normal Mode, Phase 10/11 - Hard Mode)) will now take the additional damage from the modifiers into the equation.
- The instakill on the last phase of the Solak fight will no longer consume signs of life/death.
- Allowed a worn slot to be added to an action bar slot, allowing you to use that slot's options even when switching items.
- Reaching a Shattered Worlds checkpoint now restores lifepoints, prayer points, summoning points, run energy and cures poison.
- Players now have the option to turn off Mining hitsplats for Critical Swings and Rockertunities. Known issue: Hitsplats are currently causing players in Safe Mode Java to crash. The ability to turn hitsplats off now allows those players to mine without crashing.
- Liquid Gold Nymph will no longer gild pickaxe in the toolbelt when you pick option 'Give the Nymph a different pickaxe.
- Pets, familiars and followers are no longer able to enter the Artisans' Workshop.
- A forge and anvil in the Yanille workshop have been moved to allow Clue Scroll enthusiasts to once again dig from within the building. Clue Hunters rejoice!
- Steel and Iron platebodies can be smelted into ingots.
- The Smithing Auto-Heater will now consume 5 coal, instead of 1, to reheat in-progress smithing items at zero heat.
- The layout of the Varrock south-east mining sites has been updated to more closely resemble an easy clue scroll map.
- Armour spikes will no longer damage invulnerable enemies.
- The Spring Cleaner will now use the appropriate amount of Springs when alching noted salvage, previously it would only use 1 Spring for a stack of multiple salvage.
- All fanatics have now been given their notice of termination and sent home as their service is no longer required after the Mining and Smithing rework release; this is in part due to numerous noise complaints.
- The Rune minotaur pouch now requires 100 spirit shards instead of 1 spirit shard.
- There is a new user setting called "Automatically trigger regenerate" which activates when leaving combat. The setting can be found under Gameplay-> Combat-> Action Bar.
- This setting is disabled by default for existing users but will be enabled by default for any new users or any returning users that have lapsed for over 3 months.
- Looking into Masterwork and augmentation fixes.
- Rockertunities in places will be made more visible
- Experimenting with salvage drops, it's a buff to PvM and brings in "raw gold". Getting 40 killcount at GWD1 can bring in 300K with the spring cleaner.
- Availability problems with invention components, looking into nerfing shop prices. Possible smithing salvage.
- Gem rocks are too hard to mine, looking into that.
- 45% of active players are involved with Mining 2 weeks after release. This messes with the economy.
- Would Jagex do this again for something like Woodcutting? Hard to say, it’s unlikely. This caused significant gaps in the 2018 release schedule.
- If there's potential dangers that affects player's banks or can cause deaths then yes, we will bring them back.
- It's a nightmare for us developers to see people hoarding items in large quantities. This because when changes needs to be made, we need to take the value of player's current banks into account.
- There’s also not enough time for a beta in a project that has a 12 week time span. Projects would be finished by the time they’re ready for beta, better to just release.
- Major bugs that breaks the game will be released as usual. They will not be delayed.
- Player feedback which can be used to improve the game doesn't have to be released or "fixed" as fast as possible.
- Players often miss important patches, which should be more easily discover if there is a focus or a certain theme.
- Allows the developers to talk about specific topics involving the patches since they are more closely related.
- NB: Update suggested grouping patches in early 2018.
- Player Owned Farm: Farmhand update will be 1st week of February.
- Gamejam: Trying to get one in April and one after RuneFest, when we have player feedback.
- Quest Replayability: Not currently a thing since developer spend more time than the time player's spend on replaying quests. Making old quests replayable world require a rework of the quest. Wasn't popular on Beta-worlds either (8 people replayed the myreque series, Shane knew 5 of them).
- Why do quests have terrible rewards? “We gave away all the good rewards, they came in as QOL fixes” -- Jack at 28:50
- Weapon Diversity: Still in the design-stage. Must be released in one go and not over time for balancing reasons.
- Why does bugs take time to fix after multiple reports?: If the team can't reproduce the bug, then it's not a bug. Bad descriptions and lack of details is a common thing in bug reports and takes a lot of time to go through.
- Remove the tick system?: Might as well start a brand new game from scratch. Can't speed it up either as a huge quantity of content is dependent on it being exactly 0.6 seconds.
- Elite Dungeon 3: There is a release date, but it's secret.
- High Level Mining XP Rates
- Animica Rockertunities + Mid intensity: ~150k xp/hr
- Seren Stones: 150k total AFK, 160k for mid level stamina (white spark)
- Animica 4 tick: 180-190k xp/hr, rockertunities, urns
- Golden Salt: 315-330k xp/hr
