Question from Ring
Dear hosts:
Do you think it is a coincidence that an increasing number of American and Canadian startups are going to countries with a more lax patent policy (i.e software patents)? Software patents and patent trolls are a fundamental problem to a tech start-up (in my opinion), and moving to another country to avoid the issue of them seems like a viable solution. I would love to hear your thoughts.
I also have a security question specifically for Shane.
Shane: As we all know, Truecrypt is a fantastic tool for encryption when used properly. But, sadly, the website is not secured using SSL. Doesn't this mean that your ISP has the ability to proxy-cache the truecrypt download? Doesn't this also mean that they could provide a cached download that is tampered with (for example, a version that provides a backdoor for the government). How can normal users verify that their download is backdoor free? ( I personally used GPG to verify the credibility of the download, but I want to recommend this to people at my High School, but normal people aren't sophisticated enough to do GPG verification. )
Thanks and sorry for the long question, if time is an issue, I don't mind if the first question is discarded. (You said make them good)
Thanks and love the show.

Question from Koil163
Shane. Why so serious?
And also (to both), what do you think of Siri, and do you think it is possible to make it produce an emotional response, or make it feel emotion?
Thanks,
