Question from MageGuy08

Dear Shane and Chief,

What are your thoughts on the latest leak of US documents? I myself think that in a time like this, the leak could cause some huge diplomatic problems between the US and the rest of the world.

Thanks, Magic

Forum topic on the matter.

Question from IceBlackDragon

Dear hosts,

Shane, say you got a free trip to New Zealand but your plane landed on the island that Chief isn't on. Would you go to visit/stalk him anyway?

Chief, same question, except your plane landed in Toronto. Here is a map should you need it: Click

Great show,
Ice.

Question from owned4ursake

Dear Shane and Chiefsnake
I've just come back to Runescape after a long break and started listening to the podcast again. I was just wondering where the host Brad went from last year?
Also what is the new Rsbandb cc?
Love the podcast and continue the great work.

Question from Jeki

Dear Shane & Chief__Snake

I just have two questions for you this week.

Firstly I'm very OCD when it comes to thinking of a username. It once took me 2-3 weeks to decide on one that was available seeing as my name irl was taken. I was wondering if you're the same way and that will you ever change your display names?

Second question is that as I mentioned I "script" in a language called mSL which is based around a program called mIRC. It's sort of a chat client where you can create you own channels e.t.c. It's pretty useful for chatting and group events. I was wondering if you ever considered opening a channel of sorts there or even owning a server?

Thanks Jeki

P.S: You're forgiven Chief for miss-pronouncing my name

(Side note: if you use Swiftkit then there's a Runescape based server with about 9000+ Users that was created back in 2007 by them in the Utilities Section)

Report: Microsoft Creating a TV Service via the Xbox

The missing piece to the Apple-Google TV trifecta was Microsoft, but now no more: the software maker is rumored to be launching an Internet TV platform in a year's time.

Two sources "familiar with the situation" reportedly told Reuters that a Microsoft pay-television subscription service would allow people to view content through multiple Microsoft devices, like the Xbox. Microsoft has already tested the waters by adding live-streamed ESPN content to its Xbox Live 2010 update.

Hulu Looks to Expand Outside the US

Hulu, the partnership between NBC, ABC and Fox experimenting with high-quality, ad-supported, professional online video content, is aiming to break out of its US-only limited service.

Jessica Vascellaro and Sam Schechner reported in the Wall St. Journal this afternoon that Hulu CEO Jason Kilar told them the company is looking to expand internationally and may be willing to take on additional investors to do so.

Note: Talk about relating Pandora.

Global pool of IPv4 addresses set to run dry in weeks

Yesterday, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA, part of ICANN), allocated two blocks of 16.8 million IPv4 addresses to the RIPE NCC and another two blocks to ARIN. The RIPE NCC and ARIN are the Regional Internet Registries that give out IP addresses in greater Europe and North America, respectively. This brings the global pool of still available "/8" address blocks that IANA maintains from 11 down to 7.

In 2009, IANA gave out eight /8 blocks—four to APNIC (Asia-Pacific) and four to the RIPE NCC. This is lower than the previous four years, when between nine and 13 /8s were given out. After the first 11 months of 2010, we're already at 19. ARIN and the RIPE NCC got four each, LACNIC (Latin America and the Caribbean) two, and AfriNIC (Africa) one. APNIC has received eight blocks so far this year—two every three months like clockwork. And the year isn't quite over.
